Maria Jarquin is a Civil Engineer with a degree in civil engineering from the Universidad de Costa Rica and a Master Degree in “Hydraulic Engineering and River Basin Development” from the UNESCO Institute of Hydraulic Engineering in Delft, Netherlands
Maria joined Edenvale Young in October 2007 and has worked on a range of projects including the development of hydraulic models for the River Rae in Birmingham, the detailed design of a river ferry terminal on the River Wye in the UK and the design of a jetty for Fujariah Water & Power in Oman.
She has also been involved in the provision of advice associated with the installation of cooling loops for air conditioning systems into the river Moraca in Montenegro for the design of the new UN building on the banks of the river.
Before undertaking her MSc she has worked for the Hydro Electric branch of the Electricity Costa Rican Company. Projects included design of different elements in Hydroelectric Projects, remodelling of Hydroelectric Plants in operation and the dam break analysis for the Dam Safety Program.
