Andrew Craig

Andrew has 14 years experience in computational river modelling using ISIS, in particular its application in real time flood forecasting.  He has prepared and implemented numerous hydraulic models for flood forecasting, initially in GeoGUI and later NFFS.  Key forecasting models have included the River Eden (Carlisle), River Mersey (Manchester), River Thames (Farmoor to Sutton Courtenay, Sutton Coutenay to Reading, Reading to Molesey), Lower Colne (Denham to Staines), Lower Loddon, Lower Lee (Feildes Weir to Thames), Ravensbourne catchment, and River Kennet (Marlborough to Reading).  These projects have typically included checking and improving existing hydraulic models, modelling new reaches, rating extensions (ISIS and ISIS-TUFLOW).

GeoGUI applications have included conceptualisation and checking of various software enhancements to extend the capabilities of GeoGUI for the flood forecasting environment, plus real-time event support.

He is originally from South Africa, where he trained as a Civil Engineer and gained experience in both water resources modelling and hydraulic modelling, including modelling 1400km of the Orange River.
