John Young

John Young Director BEng, MSc (Eng), CEng, MICE, MCIWEM

John Young is a Chartered Civil Engineer. During his career he has worked for consulting engineering companies in many parts of the World including Hong Kong, The Philippines, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Chile and the Caribbean. Projects included the development of coastal resorts, sea cities, islands and ports. He has given presentations at Ministerial level in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia and to the Institution of Civil Engineers in London and Riyadh. ..more

Chris Whitlow

Chris Whitlow Director BSc, PhD

Chris has a PhD in Applied Mathematics / Fluid Mechanics and extensive experience in computational river and water quality modelling. He was instrumental in the development of industry standard software (ISIS) for real-time hydraulic modelling, operational models and flood forecasting. Chris is s founding Director of Edenvale Young with excellent links to the acadamic and fluvial modelling community. ..more

Peter Aylett

Peter Aylett BSc

Peter graduated from Bath University in 2005 and joined Edenvale Young Associates in February 2006. Peter has been responsible for the development of a wide arrange of fluvial and coastal models using ISIS, TUFLOW, ISIS-TUFLOW, NFFS and MapInfo. This includes breach modelling at Martello Lakes in Hythe and tidal innundation for two sites adjacent to Orwell Quay in Ipswich. Gerald Morgan

Gerald Morgan MEng

Gerald graduated from Bath University in 2008 and joined Edenvale Young Associates having previously worked for the company on various assignments since 2004 as an industrial placement student. He has worked on the a number of Flooding Project Appraisal studies including the design of flood alleviation works at Welshpool and Knighton. Following a post graduate internship with Edenvale Young he has returned to university to start a PhD at bath University (see the news item). ..more

Maria Jarquin

Maria Jarquin BSc, MSc (IHE Delft)

Maria Jarquin is a Civil Engineer with a degree in civil engineering from the Universidad de Costa Rica and a Master Degree in "Hydraulic Engineering and River Basin Development" from the UNESCO Institute of Hydraulic Engineering in Delft, Netherlands. Maria joined Edenvale Young in October 2007 and has worked on a range of projects including the detailed civil design of the temporary jetty for abnormal loads at Fujariah and Monmouth Strategic Flood Risk Assessment. ..more

Claire graduated from Bath University in 2008 and joined Edenvale Young Associates having previously worked as an Assistant Structural Engineer for a structural engineering consultant in Bristol. Tom has an MSc in Engineering Geology and has over 20 years experience in ground engineering practice and consultancy. He has been based in Bath for over 15 years and has worked extensively on projects both within the southwest and across the UK. Paul Garrad

Paul GarradBSc PhD

Paul has a PhD in river modelling and sediment transport and 23 years experience in hydrology, hydrometry and river modelling. Following his PhD he worked for SEPA as Assistant Hydrologist and followed this as a senior and then principal hydrologist for consultants on hydrology and water resources modelling including work in Thailand, Ukraine, Hong Kong and Africa. ..more

Martin Walker

Martin Walker BSc CEng MICE

Martin Walker is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 20 years experience who has gained a very wide degree of experience in civil, structural engineering and project management. He has worked on major industrial and commercial schemes leading multi-disciplinary design teams. Martin is a Director of Wellan Ltd and an associate consultant to Edenvale Young.
